Eric Douglas

Eric Douglas is LRI's principal consultant with expertise in strategic planning, leadership development and change management.

Eric Douglas is the founder of Leading Resources, an internationally known consulting firm whose clients include HSBC Bank, Dupont, CalPERS, CalSTRS, and the University of California, among others. Eric is an expert in strategic innovation, change management, and leadership development.

Educated at Harvard University, Douglas began his career in the publishing industry. He worked as both a reporter and editor for The San Francisco Chronicle and Knight-Ridder newspapers. He later became vice president of strategy for McClatchy Newspapers and focused on developing new electronic media. Douglas launched two high-tech companies specializing in artificial intelligence prior to becoming a senior partner at a management consulting firm based in San Francisco. He founded Leading Resources in 1996.

Douglas has authored two books. The first is Straight Talk: Turning Communication Upside Down for Strategic Results. The book, a main selection of the Executive Book Club, offers a powerful approach to communication, decision making and leadership. His newest book is titled The Leadership Culture: Turning Organizations Upside Down for Extraordinary Results.

Douglas, who has been recognized by the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC) for his work, serves on numerous boards of directors and devotes considerable time to charitable and community projects. He lives with his wife and family in Northern California.
